Break Free of the Page

The Proven System That Will Have You

Improvising in 30 Days

Are you ready to get free of the printed page and make the pieces you play truly your own?

Are you itching to be more creative with your music, but aren’t sure how to begin?

Are you frustrated because you can't just "jam" with other musicians?

Then you are in the right place.

Imagine how you would feel if you could just look at a lead sheet and take the bare bones of a song and flesh it out into a piece that is truly yours.

Imagine how you would feel if you could create interesting intros and bridges and awesome extros that make you feel like you can rock even the simplest piece.

Don't just imagine it - Do it!

The system Kate teaches here is EXACTLY the process Kate used to break free of the printed music page and go from a beginner harpist to playing in Las Vegas at a major hotel in just two years.

While you may not be playing in Vegas next year, you will be playing YOUR music, YOUR way, when you finish this course.

You'll be amazed how simple and logical it is to improvise and create your own arrangements, and you WILL free up your muse so you can OWN your music and get creative instead of worrying about whether you're playing every black note written on a white page.

Learn to Play in Color!

Break Free of the Page is a step-by-step, modular approach to using chords, arpeggios and accompaniment patterns to give you the chops to create unique arrangements of tunes. These may be pieces you already know, or pieces you've wanted to learn but felt were too difficult when you've looked at all those black dots.

No more being tied to someone else's version of any tune! You will be able to take simple lead lines and chord notation and turn those pieces into truly unique versions that are reflections of YOU, no matter what level you are.

Yes, you can do this even if you are a beginner!

You will be able to improvise with confidence and joy at the end of your journey through this class.

In this self-paced online course you will learn:

  • How to read lead sheets and use "fake" books
  • How to determine what chords to play in specific keys
  • How to use countermelody and descending bass lines to make your own, unique accompaniment to familiar melodies
  • How to create introductions, bridges and extros to really make your tunes sizzle

When you can improvise, the sky is the limit.

Are you ready to make your music your own?

PLEASE NOTE the prerequisites for taking this course:

You should be able to play all the inversions, solid, broken, three and four fingers, of all the chords in the keys of C Major, A minor, G major and E minor. If you are not comfortable doing this, or are not familiar with chord structure, please consider taking my "Let Your Fingers do the Walking" program. It is not yet up here on Thinkific, but is available through me directly by e-mailing me at [email protected]
